How To Earn More Velocity Points

So you’ve signed up for a Virgin Velocity Frequent Flyer Account and you want to earn points fast. Luckily there are numerous methods on earning Velocity Points.

We’re going to run through a list of options such as bonus points for Gift Cards with FlyBuys, special offers in the Velocity app, our inside tips and we’ll look at some tools that might help you see how many points you can earn from your day to day activities.

How To Earn More Velocity Points Using Gift Cards

First of the ranks and the easiest to add into your toolkit to earn more Velocity Points is to start browsing the Coles catalogue for the latest Flybuy’s Gift Card Deal. These deals are great as they can offer you bonus points that will help you achieve your point goal sooner.

Every week Coles releases their catalogue (link under image), this catalogue will provide FlyBuys offers and specials hidden within.

You might have to flick towards the back of the catalogue to find the latest offer but you also might find some good deals on food.

I recently saw you could earn triple points per can of tuna. I’ve provided an image below so you can see what you’re looking for.

You can find offers that will give you 20x Bonus Flybuys Points if you buy Apple Gift Cards or other types of Gift Cards.

This is great if you look up the brands these gift cards cover. Lets go through an example.

I’m looking at buying some new clothes and maybe some beauty products this week. I buy the clothes from LuLuLemon and the beauty products from Sephora.

The offer in the image above shows that I can buy $50 Ultimate Her or Ultimate Him gift cards, for this purchase I look up what brands the Ultimate Gift Cards cover with those types.

Click this link here to find out which brands for the Ultimate Her gift card are covered.

I see that the Ultimate Her Gift Card covers Sephora and LuLuLemon. For the sake of this example my purchase comes out to $150, I could go and buy three of the Ultimate Her Gift Cards in the $50 denomination and when I present by Flybuys card at purchase I can earn 3,000 Flybuys points.

I was always going to buy those items this week but why not earn some points?

I now head to those shops and use the gift cards to buy the items I want and in a few days those Flybuys points will hopefully be in my account.

Now you might be wondering why do I care about Flybuys? Flybuys points can be converted into Velocity Points.

How To Transfer Flybuys to Velocity Points

To transfer Flybuys points to Velocity Points you will need a Flybuys account and a Velocity Frequent Flyer Account.

Head over to the Velocity Frequent Flyer website and go to this Link Here you’ll need to click the red button that says “Learn more” and then you’ll likely be transferred to the Flybuys website to sign in and link your account up.

How to link Flybuys to Velocity to earn more Velocity Points

If for some unexplained reason the site has changed it no longer appears you can also sign in to your Velocity Frequent Flyer account on the website and click “Link & Transfer” on the navigation bar across the top.

You will have the option set an auto-transfer which I find really handy otherwise when you go to Coles or to use your Flybuys it might prompt you on the screen if you want to redeem your hard earned points.

This isn’t ideal for me and I’m a bit clumsy so I turn on auto-transfer which transfer my points across as soon as they hit 1000.

Now an important reminder is that 2 Flybuys will earn you 1 Velocity Point.

How to Earn More Velocity Points Through The Velocity App

Another great way to earn more Velocity Points is to shop through the Velocity Frequent Flyer App, with over 300 brands and partners you can find just about anything there. Makeup, Fashion, Pet Items, Shoes, Electronics and so much more!

They even have offers on such as a recent one which would allow you to earn 6 Velocity Points per $1 spent when buying Country Road through the App.

This is great for me as I just order the item through the app now and have it delivered.

I run my pet food through there, makeup for my partner, hair products, bed sheets, if I can buy it through there I do.

It works really well if you love makeup so you can double up on earning Velocity Points and those dollars spent go towards your Sephora or Adore beauty annual limit to bump you to the next level.

I’ve provided a link below to an article we wrote on this:

You can also find great deals and offers that might earn you bonus points through out the week.

I’ve seen offers for 22 bonus points per litre of fuel if you have your 7 Eleven account linked.

I’ve even seen offers where you can earn 5,000 Velocity Points when buying a case of wine through their Virgin Wine service.

I don’t know about you but wine is a requirement in our house. You could even get a few friends to pitch in and split the case and you collect the points.

How To Earn More Velocity Points From Your Weekly Spending

Now everyone has probably experienced when applying for a financial product you fill out some calculator or form to see how much you can borrow and what your weekly shop is, how much you spend on bills, how much you spend on fuel or clothing.

We’ve taken the time to build a calculator that will tell you how many points you can earn each week and how many points you can earn across the year just from your your normal spending habits.

It will also include if you use any specific point programs such as Flybuys, 7 Eleven and if you have a card that earns you points already how that can fit in and help you.

Try it out and let us know what you think or if you have any suggestions we’re always improving and will update it with more features.
